can anyone help me identify this candleholder, please?
admittedly i´m not sure it is finnish , but think it has some similarities to
a santalahti bowl...
it´s ca. 14cm wide and 8cm tall
if it is finnish glass, i think it probably is santalahti, i don 't remember other that kind of shape and colour from other designers, wiser can correct me, if i am wrong
Your votive is Jääpuikot (Icicles), made and/or designed by Kari Mölläri, first in Napapiirin Taidelasi in 1984. Similar votive (with the same name as well as the designer) also appears in a Humppila cataloque in 1987, Hight 85 mm, D 145 mm, "keskipakoisvalettua kirkasta tai värillistä lasia" = "centrifugal moulded clear or coloured glass (?)".
source: Tuikkujen Pikkujättiläinen, printed in Vammalan Kirjapaino Oy 1995.
Thank you both for your reply - much appreciated! I didn´t look for a while and admittedly I´d almost given up to find out anything about it.
Lasilintu, thanks for the detailed information. It´s always nice when you can put a name to something you have. I haven´t heard of Kari Mölläri yet. Is there anywhere to look to find further things he designed?
I wasn´t too active here on this forum, so please excuse if this is a ´stupid´ question: Would uploading a (hopefully much better) photo be welcome?
Kind regards,
Dirk

Minultakin tämmöinen Mölläri löytyy kirkkaana, minkähän hintaisesta esineestä on kyse... Kari Mölläri näyttää olevan aika vaiettu aihe internetissä...
